Just read a really good article in the Library Journal by Nancy Dowd. She sums up that a library's success depends greatly on community awareness and that awareness starts with one word : partnerships. The State Library of Iowa has offered classes in partnering with different groups with a community but it still a good lesson to remember. Collaboration is a great thing!
Homecoming for Nodaway Valley is here. Plan to attend the game on Friday and the dance and coronation on Saturday at the gym. Although a pounding rainstorm was going on during the pancake feed it was well attended. Fall is definitely here!
September is National Library Card sign-up month. Here at the Greenfield Library we have had several new borrowers, old, young and in-between become members of the library and this is only the first week in September! Kids are coming in with their laptops doing school projects and checking out books, too.
Readers of Jack Reacher novels are eagerly awaiting his new book by Lee Child. Lots of new books out for Sept.
As director of the Greenfield Public Library, I & our library staff strive to provide the best information and resources for Greenfield and area library users.
