The library will be welcoming children's author,Rosalie Vandewater Ingle, presenting a book-talk on her book, "The Stage is Coming!" on Tues., April15 at 2:00 p.m. The author brings to life the history of the times of stage coach travel in Iowa as experienced through a little girl named Hallie. Rosalie grew up in this house which once served as a stage stop from 1837-1874 and is located on the Mormon Trail. She will talk about the history behind her book and her own family history that is incorporated into the story as well as discussing and answering questions about working on family and local history. There is a feeling in the air
of new life coming everywhere.
In beast and bird and creeping thing;
of earth responsive to the spring;
of joy and beauty gathered here,
And heaven bending very near.
The library is hosting an Usborne book fair for children's books starting at 10:00 am-7:00, Tuesday, April 8th. Wonderful, beautiful books! A treasure trove of books and a feast for the eye and mind.
A ladies neighborhood coffee group met at the library this morning. There were twelve who enjoyed coffee and coffee cake and conversation. This will be the beginning of a regular gathering on Wednesdays and Fridays every week at 9:00-10:00 and anyone is welcome. It is our hope that the library will become a "home away from home" offering a friendly place to meet.
